Ceramic Coordinator- Rosewood Art Center (2018-present)

•  Supervised and maintained ceramic studios. Assist all ceramic studio users and instructors with questions and concerns. Organize workshops for visiting artists. Assist and fire work for our Artist in Residence.  Repaired, maintained and fired electric kilns and gas kiln. In charge of budget, ordering clay and supplies for studios.  Repair and maintain ceramics wheels.  Develop and  mix all the glazes used in the studio.

•  Supervised student activities in sculpture studio as well as woodshop and welding room, maintained safety protocols, room upkeep, assisted sculpture professor in classroom, and general maintenance on tools and equipment.

•  Supervised student activities in ceramics, mixed all clay necessary for beginning ceramic classes, maintained safety protocols, room upkeep, fired gas kilns, and performed general kiln maintenance and repairs.  

 

Teaching Assistant - Miami University (2013-2016)

•   Acted as TA for Design Fundamentals, introduced students to the elements and principles of design, and their application in visual communication. Ideas were developed and designs created using both

traditional and digital media, focusing on manual skill development and on the introduction of professional design software.

•  Repaired Kilns, mixed glazes, and gave information on clay bodies.

 

Studio Assistant - Penland School of Crafts (Summer 2012)

•  Assisted Kyle and Kelly Phelps in teaching Ceramics at Penland School of Crafts, focusing on alternative firing processes in clay and mold-making. 

 

Sculpture Studio Assistant for the University of Dayton (2011-2012)

•  Maintained wood & metal shop equipment and helped students with safety and design.

 

Mentor - University of Dayton’s Office of Student Success (2010-2012)

•  Helped retain students.  I was a peer mentor for freshmen who needed help adjusting to college. I was also responsible for reaching out to students and parents to ensure satisfaction, security, and long-term success.
